Your first month, or your first year if you choose annual billing, is charged at checkout. Approving starts your first article. Nothing publishes without your approval, and you can cancel from the dashboard at any time. Within 7 days of a payment you can ask for it back, in full while fewer than 7 articles have been generated since that payment and prorated after that. Founding seats go to the next 100 accounts to complete a plan payment, so a seat is secured by finishing checkout rather than by signing up.
